Looks like I have the main part of the add_news script complete, which is a big load off of my mind. Add to that the fact that allot of what I was doing leads directly into a couple of the other ideas I had, and things are really really looking well...

Well, This is kinda sort by the way of a test. I am trying to determine if the new "add data" script is working. So far so good, but... you know how these things go. So far, I've got things working out really nicely, tho I still have some "compartmentalizing" to do... Wish me luck *L*

Site Underbelly dredged

WEEE!!! I stayed up late last night, and completely revamped the underbelly of the site. While not using a database yet, I have adopted a format that will enable me to make the transition fairly easily. Regardless, I came to a decision yesterday. I don't want to use anyone elses code, so I'm going to strive to do this all my own damned self *L* Should be fun creating a search engine, and stuff like that. Ok, I'll probably use PHPbb instead of writing my own BB's code, BUT for the rest of it, thats my desire. Anyways, just wanted to give you an update... WEEE :)
Added Graphics

Ok, back to work, I've got some new graphics comming up, thanks to OČ and a couple other good fine folks at LWD. I've gone over the code I have, and pulled out as much formatting as possible, converting to CSS as I go. I've got a couple other things I wanna do before committing, some graphics work that needs to be fixed. As you can see, I dumped the pop out menu, it was more trouble than it was worth, and broke with a single keystroke. More is comming soon, thats a promise, and a threat!!! Fathertyme

Ok, I finally changed a couple graphics, so that things feel a bit homier. I'm looking for a good blog program, tho, knowing my tastes, I'll probably end up pulling out the mysql book and just writing one myself *blech*. Anyway, The logo is up, the new background for the menu is there, I'm ready to start fleshing out the site... happy happy joy joy. At that point in the game, if I get the news up and running, then I can come up with fun things to do all the tyme :) I'm playing around with getting rid of the border for this part of the page... it really restricted how things appeared. problem is, I'm not sure I like it just blank, like it is now... I'll have to work on it some more. If you have any ideas, please feel free to drop me a line fathertyme@softhome.net

As you can see, I've been a busy little coder. The Side-panel is comming along, and I've managed to chop up some graphics to make things look a little prettier. The coding is comming along with some minor difficulties, but everything is starting to really take shape. Figured I'd give you all an update.. and it also helps me to get an idea of how the site is going to look when complete. I definitely need to work on a better data entry system tho *L* Perhaps once i've added some PHP in (right now this is straight ass html!)

The first question I'm usually asked is:
Q:
What is a CodeComa?!
A:
A CodeComa is something that most programmers will recognize. Its that state you get into when your mind is thinking ONLY of the code in front of you The house could burn down around you, but your mind is so into fixing an error, or putting that idea into code, or whatever, that you would never know. Its where a marching band could march around your desk, and you wouldn't even blink. In fact, the only real difference between it and a real, medical problem, is that you are in fact, breathing, and awake.
Q:
How can you tell when you've been in a CodeComa?
A:
There are a couple key phrases that give it away (assuming you don't look up to find the house burned to the ground, or that someone doesn't make physical contact, jarring you back to reality). These phrases are: "OH Crap, Its 4 AM!!!!" or "WOW! I should have gone home 3 hours ago!" and even, in extreme cases, "What happened to tuesday?".
Q:
I just realized that I was in a CodeComa, what should I do?
A:
Step 1: pee.
Step 2: eat.
Step 3: do not approach your computer for at least 8 hours (once in a codecoma, relapses are very easy, until project is completed)
